About the City-Anshan

Anshan is located in the central part of Liaoning Province, in the North-East of China. The city is of medium size, being 175km from north to south, and 133km from east to west. It has an urban population of 1.46 million, and an overall one of 3.4 million. The city centre is 89km south of Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning. Dalian, a major seaport, is 308km to the south. 

Anshan is one of China’s foremost iron and steel industrial bases, and is known as ‘the iron and steel capital’. 

Geographically, Anshan is very well situated. It forms a central hub surrounded by the cities of Shenyang, Dalian, Dandong, Jinzhou and Yingkou, thus forming a key position in the Liaodong Peninsula. As a result of this, Anshan is very convenient to get to, being easily accessible by train from all major Chinese cities. Two major highways,the Hada Highway (Harbin - Dalian) and the Shenda Express Highway (Shenyang - Dalian), pass through Anshan making road transport very easy. The nearest international airport is Shenyang Taoxian Airport (about 150km from Anshan). Anshan City Airport has daily flights to and from Beijing, and the city is easily accessible by train from all major cities in China. 

As a result of all of the above, Anshan is in very advantageous position for economic development, and further cooperation and joint ventures with the outside world.
